Duck Named to Gold Glove Team
Austin Grebeck has been named to the 2016 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team the American Baseball Coaches Association announced on Sunday, June 19. Grebeck, a University of Oregon junior from Laguna Hills, Calif., started all 55 games in center field for the Ducks and finished with a .993 fielding percentage while throwing out five runners on the base paths. He was also selected to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. Grebeck batted .250 with one home run and 15 RBI in the leadoff spot. He finished with a .396 on-base percentage and led the Pac-12 Conference in both runs scored (53) and walks (42). Grebeck set a new Oregon record in runs scored in a season while finishing third on the single-season all-time walks list.
