A 12-year old North Oregon Coast girls drowned in a swimming accident north of Long Beach, WA, Sunday night, May 22. Daniela Garcia, of Warrenton, was reportedly playing in or near the water about 7 p.m. when she disappeared from a caregiver’s sight. A U.S. Coast Guard swimming located her in the 55-degree water. She was unconscious and unresponsive and later died at a local hospital in Ilwaco, WA.
