With rumors spinning around the collegiate coaching world about possible new head coaches, the University of Oregon moved to insure their coach stays in Eugene. Willie Taggart, in his first year with the Ducks, has been offered a new five-year contract worth a reported $20 million. Taggart, a Florida native, earned $2.9 million this year and led Oregon to a 7-5 regular season record.
