News release CCSO. On 1/18/2017 at 11:30 AM the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at a residence on Red Dyke Road in Coos Bay. The investigation indicated both parties had assaulted each other in the presence of an infant and both sustained injuries. Pursuant to Oregon Law the primary aggressor was determined to be Corey Whiteley and was subject to mandatory arrest. As a result Corey Whiteley, age 18, was arrested and lodged at the Coos County Jail for Assault IV and Strangulation. The victim, a juvenile female did not seek medical attention at the scene.
